What is a toplist, and how does it work?

topwow.org is a top sites list that stores information about all World of Warcraft related websites, mainly relating to private servers.

Pages are ranked according to the number of 'hits in' or votes they receive per week. When members add the code to their website, a small image will appear that allows a user to 'vote for that site. A 'vote' occurs when a person clicks the image and is taken to this site. Measures are in place to ensure all votes are legitimate so this remains a fair topsite list.

Every month, the number of votes is reset to ensure newer members have a chance to make it to the top. (Overall stats are still saved in the members stats, just not used for ranking.)
